GROWING HEPATICA

Grows in shaded woodlands with rich, humus soil. Hepatica flowers very early in the spring around the same time as Red Trillium. Hepatica as several very interesting small, white, lavender or blue flowers that bloom from each plant.

Medicinally, the leaf tea was used for liver ailments, fevers and coughs.
