Welcome to Woodsgrown.com. We are suppliers of quality, live organic woodsgrown herbs that are ready for planting. We offer live American Ginseng roots and stratified seeds for the Ginseng grower at prices that are hard to beat and quality that is unsurpassed.  Ginseng growers buy from Woodsgrown.com season after season as they are assured quality organically grown stock. Ginseng growing can be a great hobby and an extra income for you and your family. Prices for quality, dried American Ginseng root can exceed $400.00 a pound .  However, don't think that growing American Ginseng is a "get rich quick" endeavor.  Ginseng needs to mature for several years before it is marketable.  If you enjoy gardening, working outdoors and you have a little patience growing American Ginseng may be a great way for you to get some fresh air and make some money at the same time.  Another great thing about growing this rare plant is that you don't need to fertilize with chemicals or use pesticides.  If ginseng is grown quickly with fertilizers the root will lose it's valuable, rugged appearance and resemble a carrot.  The better you simulate wild conditions of American Ginseng the more value you roots will have. If you want to start quickly and have seed bearing plants I suggest you plant live roots.  You will find our live ginseng root prices to be very competitive, if not the best.  You may wish to plant ginseng seed, which is the longer, riskier route but is less expensive.   Many growers plant ginseng seed and roots.  So their crops will be staggered and each year they will be able to harvest ginseng roots.  If you have any questions about ginseng or any of the plants listed below please feel free to contact us for growing advice.

Our speciality is American Ginseng but we also offer many other plants for your herb or flower garden. Our other plants include Wintergreen (Tea Berry), Solomon's Seal, False Solomon's Seal, Mayapple, Wild Sarsparilla, Wild Ginger, Wakerobin (Bethroot, Red Trillium), Bloodroot, Mayapple, Jack-in-the-Pulpit and Blue Cohosh.  In the near future we hope to offer flask cultivated Pink Lady Slipper Orchids (cypripedium acauleas) well.  All of our botanicals are grown organically under a canopy of Oak and Maple trees here in the beautiful Allegheny Mountains of central Pennsylvania. If you are looking for a plant not offered here, please send me an email and I will see if I can locate one for you. Thanks for stopping by!

Medicinal values for all of our botanicals are given under the plants description. These medicinal values are given for informational purposes only.
